This photo was taken to showcase a shallow depth of field. I found this ladybug on a stalk of grass outside the Snow building, and it took a lot of shots to get this one. I stood about 5 feet away, zoomed in to 250 mm, and used manual focus to get everything sharp. I felt very happy when I got this shot, especially since I’d only been in COMM 300 for a couple weeks at the point it was taken. Edits included adjustments to levels, vibrance/saturation, and some dodging on the ladybug itself.
