For this competition, I knew that I wanted to do something that I hadn’t done before. I had heard a little bit about scanography and the idea intrigued me. I looked into it more and decided to try scanography. Scanography is when you use a scanner to make images.

I started by turning on my printer/scanner and making sure the surface was clean. I then looked at some other scanography pictures to get inspiration. I decided that it would be interesting to scan my face, so that’s what I did.

This is the end result. anaglazier-scanography

In this process, I found that it was really hard to position my hair the way I wanted it and even harder not to breathe on the glass of the scanner. I really like this image because it looks like I’m trapped and kind of in pain.
