Banana

I loved being able to take the concept of fine art and apply the use of food photography into an art piece. With all the different aspects of fine art, I decided to pursue the route of Photography. As much as I love all other forms of fine art, photography is the medium I feel most comfortable with.

I love taking something that looks like “nothing” or that it couldn’t be used for anything and turn it into “something” that looks beautiful. I was looking around my apartment for small objects or items that I could dramatize and produce a blurred Bokeh back. When I finally found my object, a bushel of bananas, I dimmed the available lighting I had and adjusted my camera settings appropriately. I love the dramatic curves of the banana and the leading lines it produces that keeps you focused on the image. This photo I feel sends a message that anything, even bananas, can be intriguing and appealing in the terms of fine art.
